| Jen Hunter: You can't keep a beautiful woman down... |
[Dec. 10th, 2007|08:57 am] |

You may recall my posting about a year ago on Jen Hunter, left, who was criticized in a model reality show for being "too fat". At the same time, her fellow contestant, right, was praised for her figure. However, Jen showed up the judges -- including model Rachel Hunter who called Jen "fat, lazy and greedy" -- by winning a popular vote as top female model in the show.
But Rachel Hunter's comments were just a preview of the injury to come.
My post last year: http://zonker25.livejournal.com/80062.html
Anyway, since her exposure on the show, Jen Hunter refused to drop three sizes simply for a modeling contract. Thus, she did not get the Chanel 5 contract; it went to her anorexic competitor.
From article at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_article_id=482872&in_page_id=1879
"But although she was urged to lose weight, Miss Hunter refused, saying she would not "hang her head in shame" and drop three sizes just for the fashion industry. Despite being voted the leading female by the public, the stunning barmaid was not given a contract by chosen agency Select, who instead booked sub-zero Marianne Berglund - known as the "walking skeleton".
"Cape Management - a mainstream agency - then stepped in to offer Miss Hunter work - the first size 12 on their books." Seems like that would be a happy ending, huh?
Nope, she was rejected in castcalls for being too big. Yet she still took it well.
Jen said: ‘I’m grateful to the Cape Model agency for taking me on when other agencies wouldn’t. They secured me some great contracts. However, they are a mainstream agency and when I went into castings I saw very few size 12 models and came up against the same old prejudice. I just didn’t feel comfortable so I decided to change to Excel Models which is a plus size agency.’
In fact, during the year since being on the modeling reality show, not only did she refuse to lose weight for the model industry big-wigs, but she managed to pack on a bit more loveliness. At nearly six-feet in height, a year ago she weighed "about 11 stone (154 pounds) but it varies." At that time, her measurements were 34-27-38, and she was absolutely adorable. Now, though, she has increased her beauty to 36-30-40, according to the Excel Models website.
And Excel has turned out to be a wonderfully welcome place for her to show off those stunning thighs, those 40" hips and those Marilyn Monroe curves.

"I'm glad I have a little bit of junk in my trunk," says Jen Hunter.
NOTE: Rachel Hunter has repeatedly been criticized for being too fat over the years. It's sad that she had to treat Jen the way that she did. And even more sad, that she has to feel that she needed to kow-tow to the fashion industry. It's great that the younger Ms. Hunter is plowing new ground for women everywhere.
Jen about Rachel Hunter's biting remarks: “I didn’t appreciate it when she said to me that she has struggled with her weight for 20 years and I should do the same. If you have to kill yourself for a job you have to think, is it worth it?”

Many of the reality show contestants found Rachel too much. The year before Jen was on, this is what one contestant said about Judge Rachel Hunter:
"I couldn't believe Rachel's attitude towards me. She wasn't professional. She allowed her personal feelings to interfere with her judgment. She's a fat bitch past her sell-by date who cost me winning the show.
"After the things she said about me, I'd like to tell her: Rachel, you are fat. Rachel, you are spotty. Rachel, you are finished. I can only suggest she throws out the truckload of make-up she uses and hires a new personal trainer."
And after she stormed off the Howard Stern show last year, Tina said of her:
"She's too fat to model. She's got a big fat a** and back fat. I hate her."
I found many references to criticism Rachel Hunter has taken about her weight. It's sad that she has to feel so bad about herself that she can so easily put down another model for being "fat, greedy and lazy".
At 38, the elder Ms. Hunter needs to relax a little, quit sucking in her stomach, enjoy the finer things of life including chocolate, and just lighten up in her criticism of others. |

Wow, she's absolutely beautiful. I've always loved her in the gold one piece, but she's just as lovely, if not more, in the Excel shoots.
Didn't mean to mislead anybody. I think the pic in the bikini precedes her Excel days -- and perhaps predates her weight gain this year.....

Haha, I love my fat belly.... and I look just great naked, thanks anyway!
I still cant believe how someone can say Jen is too fat. She's absolutely GORGEOUS!!
Jen Hunter has the nicest legs I think I've ever seen. The woman on the right looks like she stuffed hard, crinkly wrapping paper into indiscriminate places of her bathing suit. JH doesn't even really look fat anyway.
Didn't Rod Stewart leave Rachel Hunter for someone younger?
what appals me the most is the "walking skeletton" abs (or lack of). It's totally disgusting.
Rod Stewart is...bah, let's not even go there ;)
Yeah, I mean, LOOK at the two pics. It's not even a challenge to decide which one looks better, whether you like chubby girls or not. I'm surprised Jen Hunter is even considered "fat", unless she's chubbier now (which I'd love to see).
exactly! Jen fills her bathing suit perfectly! And she has some BOOBS, unlike Mrs Skelettor...
I was too busy staring at her magnificent thighs...not to mention her winning smile.
I know I'm being the world's biggest hypocrite, but another thing I found sexy was reading an interview with her where she talked of how much she loved food and refused to diet. I can't date a chubby girl who hates being that way...most of the sexiness, for me, comes from her loving her extra pounds.
